King Foundation is committed to the highest standards of philanthropy and to honoring the founders’ original intent, while adapting to today’s needs. The King Foundation awards two different types of grants each year to organizations from Arkansas, North Texas, and West Texas: Community Grants and Initiative Grants.” Odessa Arts is honored to be the recipient of one of those grants. The Shakespeare Festival is funded in part by another very generous donation from Buzz and Betsy Hurt in honor of Buzz’s mother – Mary Ratliff Hurt and his grandmother – Sallie Ratliff. They were each long-time supporters of the Globe Theatre from the beginning. This gift will be used to assist with the productions of Shakespeare performed the third week in November. Odessa Arts is so honored to receive this gracious gift in memory of those most precious to the Hurts.
